Mother’s Day Jazz Duo

Etsuko Tomeda plays classical and jazz piano and has extensive experience performing as a soloist and accompanist.

After her study in piano at Musashino Music Academy in Tokyo, Etsuko continued to study piano with William Knight at Shorter College in Georgia and received a B.M. in piano performance with honors. Later, she studied jazz theory and improvisation with Dan Lawrence, a composer and a staff jazz pianist at Atlanta’s Ritz Carlton Hotel. Etsuko has worked with various chamber music and jazz ensembles for all occasions in Atlanta, Georgia and other states for many years. She also recorded and published her original music for vocalists at that time. Etsuko move to Bellingham in 2020 and has been enjoying both teaching and performing in the area.
