The Yankee Drivers

The Yankee Drivers are grounded in traditional hard-driving, heart-breaking bluegrass with progressive, swing, country and rock influences and original tunes in the mix.   They make their home in Whatcom County, from Bellingham to the East Whatcom foothills.   Chuck DeVange lays down driving rhythms and original improvisations on guitar.  Pete Goodall, a well-known multi-instrumentalist and fixture in the Northwest Bluegrass scene, holds down the low end on bass. Jeff Panko is known for his mandolin prowess, knocking out blazing solos and propulsive rhythms.  Alan Shurman brings that characteristic five-string banjo sound, central to the bluegrass vibe.  Jeff and Pete contribute catchy originals and everyone shares the vocals.  The Yankee Drivers family-friendly shows are about great tunes and good times.
